A town in southern New Zealand has too many jobs and not enough people. The town of Kaitangata only has 800 residents, yet has 1,000 job openings. The Mayor of Kaitangata stated, we have unemployment down to two, not two percent, but 2 young people. Kaitangata is offering attractive relocation packages for housing and land at 230,000. If relocation to rural areas dies out, it could have a broader impact on the socio-economic landscape for countries like New Zealand. Elliot Hill and Jason Venzor discuss the surplus of employment in southern New Zealand.
