School Hires Ex-FBI Agent to Spy on Black Students

A former FBI agent was paid 157,000 last year to spy on the social media activity of public school students in Huntsville, Alabama. School superintendent Casey Wardynski started the surveillance started after the NSA tipped the school district off to a student who was making violent Facebook threats. The program has led to the expulsion of fourteen students, and 86 percent of those suspended were African American. We look at whether or not the program is actually targeting black students in this Lip News clip with Mark Sovel and Elliot Hill.
